Lord Ashtown, 7th baron, dies at 93

The 7th Baron Ashtown (Peerage of Ireland), KCMG, died at the Chelsea
and Westminster Hospital, 6 March, 2010. He was 93.Funeral at Mortlake
Crematorium on Friday 19 March. He was b 27 Oct 1916, son of Clive
Newcome Trench, of Roadwater, Watchet, co.Somerset (by his wife
Kathleen Maud Marion MacIvor, 2nd dau. of Maj Ivan MacIvor CSI), 3rd
son of Capt Hon Cosby Godolphin Trench, of Sopwell Hall, Cloughjordan,
co. Tipperary (by his wife Maria Musgrave, 1st dau. of Sir Richard
Musgrave, 4th Bt.), 2nd son of Frederick Mason [Trench], 2nd Baron
Ashtown; succeeded to the peerage 19 Aug 1979 on the demise of his
cousin once removed; married (1) 1 Dec 1939 Marcelle Cathrine van
Kloetinge (d. 1994), yst. dau. of Johan Jacob Clotterbooke Patyn van
Kloetinge, of Zeist, The Netherlands; married (2) 17 Dec 1997
(Dorothea) Mary Elizabeth von Pless (former wife of HSH Hans Heinrich
XVII Wilhelm Albert Eduard, 4th Prince of Pless), dau. of Lt Col
Richard George Edward Minchin; and is succeeded by the son of his 1st
spouse, the Hon Roderick Nigel Godolphin Trench, of Bassetts,
Mayfield, co. Sussex (b. 17 Nov 1944).
